Celsius
Celsius is a unit of temperature, also called as centigrade. The celsius scale based on 0° for the freezing point of water and 100° for the boiling point of water. The degree celsius is defined by the symbol °C.
Fahrenheit
Fahrenheit is the unit of temperature denoted by the symbol (°F). On the fahrenheit scale, the freezing point of water is 32°F and the boiling point is 212°F at standard atmospheric pressure. Therefore the difference between the boiling and freezing points of water in fahrenheit scale is 180 degrees. The normal body temperature is considered to be 98.6°F.
How to convert the temperature Fahrenheit to celsius
Zero degree celsius is equal to 32 degree fahrenheit.
0 °C = 32 °F
The temperature in degree celsius(°C) is obtained by subtracting 32 from the temperature in degree fahrenheit(°F) and multiply it by 5/9.
°C = (°F – 32) * 5/9
Example 1:
Convert 15 °F to Celsius
°C = (15 – 32) * 5/9
Therefore, 15 °F = -9.45 °C
Example 2:
Convert 50 °F to Celsius
°C = (50 – 32) * 5/9
Therefore, 50 °F = 10 °C
